“Failsafe mode problem due to excessive SST fluid temperature” is the weak point of LANCER EVOLUTION X SST for sport driving. HKS SST Fluid Cooler Kit was developed to solve this problem.

The HKS SST Oil Cooler Kit Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X CZ4A delivers great performance under extreme temperatures and hard driving when your engine needs it the most. This will contribute to extending the amount of driving your CZ4A which will be able to do before activating Failsafe Mode due to the transmission overheating.
HKS released SST Oil Cooler Kit to assist in increasing the performance of engine oil. The Oil Cooler Kit helps prolong the life of internal engine components. Aggressive driving causes higher engine temperatures. Factory oil coolers are normally small water-cooled devices sandwiched between the oil filter and engine block. These are big load for the cooling system even under normal driving conditions. The new kit also offers an enhancement of thermostat to give quick engine warm up.

Point!!

Stock car is in safe mode after 10 minutes of driving due to excessive oil temperature. It took HKS SST OIL COOLER KIT installed car twice as long as to reach the temperature to enter the safe mode. A driver can concentrate on driving without concerning for the failsafe mode.

Normal Core vs. Large Core

Point!!

In-house test results show that there was not big difference of oil temperature between a stock core and large core. Even adding a cooling fan did not show any improvement. However, HKS’ original cooling system did significantly lower the oil temperature. HKS SST Fluid Cooler Kit is a must item for sporty driving with Lancer Evolution equipped with the SST.
